Reset Quick Access Toolbar to fix cannot open File Explorer in Windows 10/8

Windows 10/8 File Explorer includes the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) below the Ribbon panel. It allows user or the application to add a set of Commands into the small toolbar by clicking drop-down menu arrow to choose the option. To customize that, I added the properties button to the QAT but it just shows like > as an expandable menu. Then I right-click on Properties from this menu to add it to the QAT. Immediately the File Explorer crashes and its button setting is corrupted. How can I resolve the problem? Continue reading

Network Mapped Drives Close/disappear in File Explorer on Windows 10/8

My Win7 computer is on a domain and has mounted a mixture of DFS drives and the shared network drives to drive letters by Group Policy Preferences and that worked fine. After I upgrade it to Windows 10 and leave File Explorer showing the mapped Drives for a few minutes of inactivity, it will close by itself for no apparent reason. I use my Seagate 1TB SATA3 Desktop Drive to copy files normally using explorer in Windows 10 Pro.
