How To fix Missing Battery Slider in taskabr on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

To improve power management, Windows 10 has added a power slider option to the main battery section of the taskbar on Redstone 3. Users can easily adjust power options to improve battery life or performance from desktop on their tablet or laptop. There are currently no power options available in Windows 10 Creators Update

After Windows 10 Creators Update has been installed on my Surface Pro 4 tablet, the Power Options become unavailable and are missing functions. When I tap or click on the power icon from start menu, it show the error message: “There are currently no power options available“. Running sfc /scannow finds no issues and I change the power plan and change value within registry editor and nothing is working. Now I have to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys or run CMD command to shutdown or reboot my tablet. How can I fix it? Continue reading

Fix Power Plan Setting Not Working in Windows 10 anniversary update

My PC is dual boot system and has a existing Win 7 and I installed Windows 8.1 in a new partition. In Win8.1, I modified the existing power plan to setup the computer to sleep in 30 minutes with the display to turn off in 15 minutes and everything worked normally. However, After I upgraded the system to Windows 10 anniversary update, the custom power plan is not working properly. When there is one minute of inactivity, the display goes blank. Fix/Change Windows 10 Lock Screen Timeout on Surface Pro

I always read email message on my Surface Pro 4 and the screen keeps timing out the way too soon in Windows 10 anniversary Update, so I make changes with the length of inactivity time by this method. Right click any empty area on Desktop, select Personalization > Lock Screen > Screen time out settings, and choose your required time in the drop down menu.However, no matter what I set the length of time to, the screen will keep timing out at 1 minute. If I configure the the displayto “never sleep” in Power Options, it doesn’t take effects and the tablet goes to sleep after 2 min. How can I resolve the problem? Continue reading

USB 3.0 External Hard Drive not Recognized in Windows 8.1

After upgraded my computer to Windows 8.1 RTM, I plug my Seagate Backup Plus 4TB USB 3.0 external hard drive and it is not recognized. The Disk Management also doesn’t show it. Using other HDD and different USB port get the same problem. Then I run the Troubleshooter and it found “USB Root Hub Driver (xHCI) has a Problem. Reinstalling driver might fix.” Apply it but it doesn’t fix the issues. Continue reading

iHeart radio app from app Store offers a way to find and listen to more than 1500 live radio stations on Windows 8 computer. When I use the iHeart radio app on my Surface pro tablet without doing any action, the screen dims and turns off automatically but the audio doesn’t continue.
