Remove or turn off Metered Connection Warning in Outlook 2016 on Windows 10

I have bought the Surface 3 Unlimited ATT LTE and it runs Windows 10 Home with Office 2016. When I use the the Cellular connection outside, Outlook 2016 can’t send or receive email messages anymore. Because it automatically goes offline and shows “Metered Connection Warning & Upgrade in Progress” in the File tab. I open the Network & Internet in Settings app and disable metered connection but nothing works. How can I resolve it on my tablet? Continue reading

How to setup Ethernet connection as metered in Windows 10 Creators Update

By default many people have unlimited access to the internet using an Ethernet connection, so the Anniversary Update only brings the option to set your Wi-Fi or cellular data connections as metered. But that becomes a big problem for users who don’t have unlimited data plan and they have to modify the registry to resolve it with wired network. How to set WiFi metered connection in Windows 10 Aniversary Update

To prevent system from automatically installing downloading the updates and uploading bandwidth as it wants without asking, I was able to configure a WiFi as metered type Internet connection to get more control in Windows 8.1 on my Surface Pro 3 while using mobile hotspot or at hotels. It is easy to enable the feature by going Settings > Network & Internet and turning Metered connection ON. However, after my tablet is installed the Windows 10 Aniversary Update, the related option is missing completely and now I don’t know where is it, even Bluetooth disabled. Continue reading
