Cannot type text in Edge, cortana search with keyboard in Windows 10

I have got a strange problem after installing the Windows 10 Creative update on my Surface Pro 4. I can only type text in office app like outlook, word, but it doesn’t take any effect while I am trying to type in Edge browser, cortana search field box, and Start menu. The keyboard seems to be disconnected with those apps. I have to type text in notepad, and then paste it. How can I resolve it on my tablet?

I clear all Cached data and files in Edge browser and nothing works.The Keyboard is only not working in Edge or Cortana after Windows 10 Creators Update, but I don’t miss any configuration option. I think it should be the incompatible software or system bug.

How to fix cannot type text in Edge, Cortana search with keyboard problem in Windows 10
* If you have already installed any x86 program or driver which requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) library function, you can not type text in Edge. It happens while you are accessing the webpage that is relates to the XML format or use a nice graphic search box. Everything should be normal with simple webpage.
Edge might collects all the information you type, and the Visual C++ 2008 causes it not working in Creators Update.
To fix the issue temporarily, you need to disable or uninstall those program with 2008 library function in Windows 10. But this is not a perfect way.

Another quick solution
* Press Win + R from your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
* Copy the full location below:
C:\Windows\system32\ctfmon.exe
and paste in the text field and press enter to run the ctfmon program. ctfmon.exe process can control Alternative User Input and the Office Language bar.
* When the language bar appears, you are able to type anything in Windows Cortana search, start menu and all apps. You have to do it each time you reboot your machine.

If the Edge has been corrupted, you also can not type text. You’d better repair its installation.
* Open the Powershell with admin right
* Type the command below:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

and press Enter to execute it.
