My touch screen tablet is running Windows 10 Anniversary update and now I would like to get new features with the latest Creators Update. When I run the update assistant, it passes the hardware check at the beginning and starts the installation. However, the Setup process fail to finish and shows the error “Windows 10 is no longer supported on this PC“. I refresh that and it still displays the same cryptic message. How can I resolve the problem?
Many people have get the error “Windows 10 is no longer supported on this PC” while trying to install the Creators Update on their devices, such as ASUS VivoTab Smart and Lenovo ThinkPad. Because the device has any of the built-in Intel processors (codenamed Clover Trail) below:
Atom Z2760, Atom Z2520, Atom Z2560, and Atom Z2580
Those processors are not supported on Windows 10 Creators Update completely since now. If you have applied the update in those PC, there will be not any text name showing with folder and file and you can see only icons or solid color blocks in File explorer, as well as on old Control Panel. You could use a work-around by forcing loaded the video driver to fix the no text display issue. So all devices containing one of the processors is prevented from installing the Creators Update, until Microsoft provide the compatible drivers for that.
In addition, you also need to determine if your tablet or computer is compatible with the Windows 10 Creators Update or Not. Open your manufacture website and find out your current device model to see if it is compatible.
