Cannot Insert Hyperlink Outlook/Word crashes in Windows 10 Creators Update

I have used office 2016 version in Windows 10 anniversary update without any problem until my Surface Pro 3 is upgraded to Creators Update. Everytime I highlight text in email and press Ctrl+K then paste the URL in the insert hyperlink dialogue box, the Outlook program freezes and crashes. It also happen when I insert a video from youtube by imbed code option or hyperlinks in Powerpoint. That always lose any unsaved changes on those document files.

Then I run sfc /scannow command and try many tips, such as disabling add-ons, online repair and use safe mode with Outlook 2016. But the app is still crashing with Hyperlink. I open event view and notice the Faulting module path: C:\windows\SYSTEM32\ucrtbase.DLL in the Application Log. Word and Excel apps also get crashing problem once I copy and paste URL from another.

I think the failing module is due to any hardware and this is a conflict with something. Finally I figure out the Office is conflict with my Hauppauge 2250 TV receiver. I disconnect the TV receiver and uninstall the related card driver and the issues is fixed. Some drivers or hardware might be not compatible in Windows 10 Creators Update and make the insert hyperlink function not working. You’d better remove any external hardware on your tablet or computer to troubleshoot that.

Update: If you have installed the Office 2016 (not 365) patch KB3114389, it is linked to an ATI graphics card and may cause Word and Outlook app to crash. So the best way is to uninstall KB3114389 in Settings app of Windows 10.
