Add Windows Defender context menu in Windows 10

The Windows 10 comes with the built-in antivirus and antimalware security utility aka Windows Defender. By defult it scans all of the files located in a folder, but doesn’t provide any functionality from the right click context menu to scan the individual file, with GUI and no command line. Most of other products have such option for faster accessing and here are the tips about how to do that.

Add Windows Defender in right click context menu on Windows 10
Note: You’d better do a backup first or create a Restore Point before making changes with the systems. It also requires you to have the administrative privileges to perform the action.
* Press Win + R from your keyboard, input Regedt32.exe, and click OK button.
* Within the Registry Editor, navigate to the location below in the left hand pane:

From there, right-click the sheel key to create a new sub folder and name it as WindowsDefender.
* Click the WindowsDefender and go to its right-hand side,
right-click to create a new String in REG_SZ type, name it MUIVerb and set the Value Data to Windows Defender Scan.
Create another String Value and name it Icon, and type the
%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\EppManifest.dll
in its value data.
* Finally go to create the new sub key Command under the WindowsDefender, and configure its Default String Value to be C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe” -scan -scantype 3 -SignatureUpdate -file %1
* Once you’ve done, close the Registry Editor to check if it is working.

Another method to add it into the desktop context menu for all users
* First copy and past those codes into a notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
"Icon"="%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\EppManifest.dll,-101"
"MUIVerb"="Windows Defender"
"Icon"="%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\EppManifest.dll,-101"
@="C:\\Program Files\\Windows Defender\\MSASCui.exe"
"Icon"="%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\EppManifest.dll,-101"
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Defender\\MSASCui.exe\" -Update"
"Icon"="%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\EppManifest.dll,-101"
"MUIVerb"="Quick Scan"
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Defender\\MSASCui.exe\" -QuickScan"

and save it with name AddMenu.reg. Then double click on this file to apply that.
