  1. ‘Fraid this doesn’t seem to work for me (WIndows 8.1) – can’t find any trace of scancode map in my registry either via your instructions or via registry search.

    Caps lock is a /real/ pain. On W7 I used a utility program (capslockchanger) to disable it. Perhaps I need to give this a try.
