If you forget or lost your Windows password with Surface Pro Windows 8, a password reset disk can help you create a new one to have access to your files and information. Once done, store it in the place where others can’t get it.
Windows only allows local user accounts to a password reset disk. It just create and add a userkey.psw file onto a USB flash drive.
* First sign in your account and connect a USB flash drive to your tablet. Press the Windows + X keys and release, and select “Control Panel” from the list.
* Click/Tap on the User Accounts icon > “Create a password reset disk” link in the left pane.
* Within the Wizard, click Next > choose your USB flash drive (Removable Disk) > Next > Enter your current user account password, and then Next to start processing. If the flash has already create one, Click YES to replace it.
